You may or may not know, but I use this product as I teach and compete all over the US. It is this type of support that makes it easier for me to recommend Pro-Ears every time I am asked 'whats the best hearing protection protection' for the shooting sports or for tactical applications. Again, Thank you and have a great day! Tom Buy American Made Products You have a great site, and I stumble on it looking for a rifle bench rest. When I get my new rifle you can be assure, I will be ordering a bench master rifle rest. Thanks for making it american made. Michael Hear What You Have Been Missing I had just about given up on shooting. Seriously. I was a 'Semi-famous' gun magazine writer and my young children were starting to shoot with me. Problem was, with traditional ear protection I couldn't hear what they were saying to me, or hear what other shooters and the range officers were saying.

: 6/14/2011 4:14:38 by VASCAR2] I have the Meprolight front sight on my duty AR. I've used this set up during night shoots and it is by far superior to non illuminated sights. I don't see any reason to purchase the rear aperture sight with tritium dots as the aperture focuses your eye on the front sight and is accurately aimed. The Meprolight front sight I purchased is more like an A-1 front post and uses an A-1 sight adjustment tool. The Trijicon front sight is an A-2 design with more of a square post and uses an A-2 sight tool. For the difference in price I am satisfied with the Meprolight. I think the illuminated front sight is great on a rifle/carbine with fixed carry handle. I prefer the E O Tech on a flat top carbine for low light but for people with the fixed carry handle I think this is a must for low light use and not very expensive. I think a carry handle really compromises an E O Tech or other red dot and I personally don't care for the over the handle mounts or the cantilever mounts which put the red dot in front of the carry handle. If stuck with a carry handle a tritium front sight is worth the bucks IMHO. Another-Bill What Would Keith Richards Do? Gold Contributor Team Nov 2000 USA LA, USA 6120 : 0-0-0 : 6/14/2011 4:38:16 I've had both on my Glock 19. The Trijicon has a patented sapphire crystal lens to better focus the illumination.

give Ron at apex a call he is an Aimpoint and Eotech stocking dealer. He will be able to set you in the right direction. Also most of the reliability issues, ie turning itself off while firing, have been corrected with the xps line, because the battery is no loner in line with recoil, but perpendicular so the leads won't take as much of a beating. How does one get a hold of him? I don't have his number. Everybody have a good, and safe, 4th. Sorry, I should have provided that information. He is out of Marion Iowa, you can call at 319.551.5842 or his site is http://www.apexodt.com/. Usually its much easier to just give him a call. You can say Thomas sent you, but I dont know if that would do more bad then good TBH MOG_1 7/4/2011 10:42:04 AM Eotech XPS Reasons: Field of view Battery availability Small footprint Good customer serviceI just bit the bullet and bought and Aimpoint with Larue mount. I will call ADCO. I was just wondering if you had it done what the procedure would be shipping a lower for repair or modification. Would I have to ship it and receive it through a FFL dealer ?

Unless this changed recently, you do not need to involve an FFL holder to ship rifles for repair and it can be sent back to the person who sent it.

I will call ADCO tomorrow to verify the procedure and post it here. But it makes sense that I should not have to ship through a FFL. And I know gun laws rarely make sense

You do not have to ship through FFL. ADCO is a dealer/FFL. Have done this many times. It will come back to your house.

This. ADCO is an FFL so they can receive the lower for repair. They can ship back to your home address. It is being returned, not transferred.

Handy little carbine. The M44 is a combination flash bang grenade, flame thrower, rifle and spear all in one.

No, You can ship it direct to them & they can send it back to you!

But a more important question, unless there is something wrong with the BCG, why bother with removing it?

I have a late model pre-ban lower.Sent it to M60joe.com to take out the block then he plugged and recut my hammer/trigger pin holes so I can use standard .154 parts and pins.Removing the block was $80 that included shipping and about $400 to have the lower holes redone and the lower refinished a nice matte black.I got the lower stripped for $250 so now I have a $1250 invested in preban with no block and normal size holes..he does great work.Adco does too but I only use them for barrel work.

What if the carrier breaks? Colts modification pretty much made the BCG proprietary. If I needed to replace the BCG I would then have to send off for repair . I thought if I de sporterized it now I could still use the neutered BCG until it needs to be replaced.

How often do carriers break? Even in hard use Military rifles. Your bolt will break well before then.
Plus, its not like one cannot find a Colt "sporter" carrier out there...

Seems to me (Almost all of my ARs have the block) that the cost of having the block taken out does not outweigh the small gamble of having to replace the bolt carrier.

If there is a seer block installed you would know it. It would lock up your rifle and you would be unable to even pull the CH back. That is the case with my rifle anyway.

Yes.

$100 up front (plus shipping; Not cheap) vs. possible gamble of a $100 carrier?

I do have them in my SKS's Even without the spring installed, they offer a reduced chance of a slam fire. Instead of a conical shaped firing pin head pushing up into a conical shaped hole, the pin is just round at the end and never contacts the conical hole in the bolt.

The one real problem with them is that if you have a pierced primer the flame entering the bolt through the hole will take the temper out of the spring and render it useless. Even with the spring in this condition the pin still functions properly. Mr. Murray has also discovered what seems to be the cause of a lot of these pierced primer incidents. On a lot of SKS Rifle Stocks bolts, there seems to be a burr or raised edge around the firing pin hole on the face of the bolt. By removing this burr it stopped my SKS's from having any more pierced primers.

Corp GLNIC LA CA is "GLNIC Corporation of America", a company based in California, but owned by the People's Liberation Army of China. GLNIC may stand for "Guangdon Lingnan Ind. The letters "CGA" may be stamped on the trunnion ahead of the serial number on early-import GLNIC AK47S rifles, and it appears that CGA was the exporter for pre-1989 GLNIC-imported AK47S and SKS Rifle Stocks rifles (later rifles were exported by Norinco).

It's a Norinco. You'd have to compare prices in your area, but $295 sounds fairly reasonable.

Shop came down to $250 which really left me no other option than to buy. I got this thing home and it is pristine, all matching, and appears never to have been fired. Don't need this and will likely forward it to my cousin who is a collector, but nicest one I've seen in a long time. The CGA thing just threw me off.

Yes the AA with the spring installed was declared a class III device per BATFE Ruling 2006-2.

To address the other question that followed. Here is a copy of the letter that was sent with the AR-15 Stocks for evaluation; it clearly states that the benefits to individuals is in addition to what it is created for.

http://heavenintexas.org/images/BATFE-Request-for-Approval-.jpg

this is not the letter that the BATFE returned to you. The letter dated June 2010 addressed by Mr. Spencer specifically states what this is intended for.

I guess in order to get a correct answer and to be 100% sure that this will not come back to bite one in the a.... I will write to Mr. Spencer and ask him about this specific sentence in the letter they send you back. The letter you posted is something you send to them.

-> Quam magnus mirantium tam magnus invidentium populus est. ( "Seneca" ) <-
-> There are three means of refuge from the miseries of life: music, dogs and Formula One Racing ( "Me" ) <-

The bracket is made for A1 lowers. I still have to modify the wire AR-15 Stocks to fit around the a2 reinforcements.

I am going to go and see if this pistol buffer kit works now.
